Our heroes on DC's Legends of Tomorrow have done many things in their five seasons — they've traveled through time, faced off against figured from history, taken on fairy tale creatures, they've been to hell, gotten stuck in television shows and alternate realities, and they've all transformed into a gigantic stuffed animal named Beebo.
Suffice to say, one of the only places Legends of Tomorrow has not gone as a series is to well-trod ground. And after season 5 saw the Legends stop the god-tier Fates from controlling the destinies of all humankind, things changed again in major ways. Before season 5 even reached its finale, we'd already witnessed the final bow for long-running characters Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) and Nora Darhk (Courtney Ford).
The season finale episode 'Swan Thong' wrote the original Zari (Tala Ashe) out of the equation, brought Zari's brother Behrad (Shayan Sobhian) back from the dead, and made Astra Logue (Olivia Swann) a part of the Legends team after spending a whole season trying to kill them. Not to be upstaged, the final moments of that episode found Captain Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) kidnapped by aliens.
With Sara in the wind and with Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell) the only original Legend left aboard the Waverider, where does DC's Legends of Tomorrow go next? Here's everything we know so far about the upcoming sixth season.
What's the premiere date for Legends of Tomorrow season 6?
Confirmation that DC's Legends of Tomorrow had been renewed for a sixth season came on May 14, 2020. Since that time, we've gotten confirmation that both Supergirl and Black Lightning's upcoming seasons will be their last, but it's not yet confirmed whether The Flash or Legends of Tomorrow will carry on.
What would have been the fall 2020 season for the entire CW slate of DC superhero shows wound up delayed to 2021. Supergirl's sixth season is delayed until the summer of '21 so that star Melissa Benoist can settle in with her newborn son. Conversely, despite Batwoman losing its lead Ruby Rose, new star Javicia Leslie dove into her role as Ryan Wilder quickly enough for Batwoman season 2 to debut January 17, 2021.
So where does that leave Legends of Tomorrow? Unfortunately, it's looking like the Legends will be away from our screens about as long as Supergirl will.
Production on Legends season 6 has begun. Star Caity Lotz confirmed as much on October 9, 2020, when she posted a video on Instagram of her first day back at stunt rehearsal. She also confirmed on December 11, 2020 that she was in process directing an episode.
However, despite production being underway, The CW will likely let Batwoman and The Flash air first, before bringing Legends in mid-season. The plus side: more time means that most (if not all) production and post-production work will be complete so that Legends of Tomorrow can air weekly without breaks.
Who's in the cast for Legends of Tomorrow season 6?
We know some of the Legends are gone, but who's coming back? Our leads will return, meaning we can look forward to the continuing adventures of Caity Lotz as Sara Lance, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory, Nick Zano as Nate Heywood, Jes Macallan as Ava Sharpe, Matt Ryan as John Constantine, and Tala Ashe as Zari Tarazi.
After holding down recurring roles, both Shayan Sobhian as Behrad and Olivia Swann as Astra return for season 6 as series regulars for the first time. Adam Tsekhman, who has long played comedy relief character Gary Green, has also been promoted to series regular.
Even more exciting, we've got some brand new characters joining the Waverider for season 6. Lisseth Chavez is on board as Esperanza 'Spooner' Cruz, someone with the talent and the drive to defend the human race from space aliens. As it turns out, extraterrestrial life looks to be a significant part of Legends of Tomorrow's new season. ComicBook.com is also reporting that Aliyah O'Brien of Bates Motel fame has signed on to play the recurring role of Kayla, 'a fearsome warrior with a high body count and low patience for human incompetence.' Sounds about right for Legends of Tomorrow.
What will Legends of Tomorrow season 6 be about?
Season 5 of Legends of Tomorrow involved fate, the nature of choice vs. destiny, and how much one person can change the course of human history. Season 6 is about little green men — at least in part.
Co-showrunner Phil Klemmer revealed that there will be a 'whole motley assortment' of aliens in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. 'If these were all Dominators, it would get a little repetitive,' Klemmer said. 'So we want to do the same thing we did for magical creatures but for aliens.'
The goal, at least at first, is to let these aliens be bad guys to be defeated. However, Klemmer explains, 'We'll find a way to humanize and find the emotional complexity of Marvin the Martian, and by the time we get to the finale, we'll have to spend like half our time realizing they weren't so bad, they were just misunderstood.
Of course, there's more than aliens to consider for the upcoming season — there's romance, too. The Legends sometimes seem like they are in a perpetual state of hooking up. Last season we saw Zari 2.0 and Constantine get together, and that story will continue. Klemmer admitted in an interview with TV Guide that 'It's really hard to break stories [for Zari and Constantine] because when you have them fight, who's supposed to win?'
Not everyone is looking for love, however. Now that Nate has lost both Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and Zari, he's gonna hit the proverbial showers for a bit. 'I think he's probably just given up,' says Klemmer. 'He needs to pursue some platonic relationships.'
About Spooner and Gary's future on Legends of Tomorrow
6 Plots Cast List
Two of the characters whose stories remain particularly open-ended are Esperanza Cruz and Gary Green — and there are some very interesting possibilities potentially in store for both of them.
While Gary is often seen as a joke, he's been a fierce warrior and even a dangerous villain over the years. One thing we don't know anything about is Gary's origins. How did he join the Time Agency? Why is he so prone to getting into mystical danger? We're meant to find out the answer to those questions in season 6 where Gary's origin story gets explored. As Entertainment Weekly reports, it's apparently 'even more bizarre than you might imagine.'
Cruz's horizons are no less broad. Apparently, she has — or, at least, believes she has – the ability to communicate with aliens telepathically. Furthermore, there's the matter of her last name. Fans are already speculating that she is (or is related to) Jessica Cruz — someone who just so happens to be part of the Green Lantern Corps. Since we know season 6 is going to go cosmic, there's every chance that Oa might be on the table.
We'll find out more when DC's Legends of Tomorrow returns for its sixth season in the summer of 2021.
Vikings are shutting to its end. And Vikings Season 6 Part 2 trailer teased the finale would research a good deal of activity with a few emotional moments between. Further, the Vikings Season 6 Part 2 tips which a few of the characters such as Ingrid (Lucy Martin) and Amma (Kristy Dawn) would measure in front part while fighting Prince Oleg (Danila Kozlovsky) to encourage Björn (Alexander Ludwig).
Besides these, the giant serpent from the trailer teased that mythical characters do exist. Well, we’ve seen Odin in various forms throughout the show, directing the Vikings. However, this monster also suggests that some lifeless personality would return. Can they?
Vikings surfaced in 2013 that originally centered on Ragnar Lothbrok’s (Travis Fimmel) traveling and success stories. Later, the narrative shifted to Ragnar’s sons’ travel: Björn, Hvitserk, Ubbe, Sigurd, and Ivar. Contrary to Ragnar and his Vikings brothers, Ragnar’s sons’ narrative follows one another’s hatred, revenge, and conflict. Following Ragnar’s departure in the fourth year, his sons split to live their own life by themselves, and a few joined the rival group to get their kingdom back.
TRAILER TEASED SEVERAL CHARACTERS STEPPING IN FOR A WAR
AMMA IS PREPARED FOR THE BATTLE
Amma was initially introduced to Vikings Season 5 because of the shieldmaiden. However, once she steps into Hvitserk’s (Marco Ilsø) sneakers, her look gets lesser. But now, since the trailer stinks, Amma would stand beside Björn in the military’s front. Creator Michael Hirst theorized the coming season would focus on both the men and women’s glorious struggle against their enemy. It is the saga that talks about the Vikings’ hero no matter the sex.
INGRID WILL BE STRONGER THAN EVER
Ultimately, fans would have the ability to view Ingrid’s more powerful side as from the finale season, as she climbs as a warrior. Ingrid was introduced to Vikings Season 6 because of Kattegat’s indigenous, who soon found great chemistry together with Björn. Even though Björn’s spouse Gunnhild (Ragga Ragnars) was heartbroken, she enabled him to create Ingrid, his next wife. But after the brutal finale, when King Harald molested Ingrid, she remained light on the shore.
But now, you can view her at a black warrior ensemble using a bow and arrow. It appears as Ingrid has coached himself, and today she looked like a powerful woman who will deal with the article of Björn’s shieldmaiden. As she is prepared with her bow and arrow to win against the rival team.
THE GIANT SERPENT COMING IN THEIR WAY
From the trailer, a giant serpent appeared facing Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith) when he is sailing from the sea looking for Floki along with the gold land. The giant serpent is Jörmungadr, also known as Midgard Serpent. Jörmungadr is Angrboõa and Luki’s next child, thrown by Odin to the huge sea in Midgard / Earth. According to mythology, Jörmungadr grew so large he circumscribes the Midgard and consumes his tail.
Well, seeing the giant serpent in the center of Ubbe’s travel is not a great sign. But it may be possible that they had been hallucinating or it had been a nightmare. However, it is a terrible omen that Ubbe must think about. Maybe it is a sign to stop his trip and return to his property. Additionally, there’s an indication of the afterlife in which a few deceased characters would seem.
IS FLOKI ALIVE?
But, Ubbe finally found that the gold land and his hunt appears to finish shortly. However, nobody at the trailer watched Floki.
. As most of us know, Floki traveled to Iceland in pursuit of a new neighborhood. But once he entered the cave, nobody has seen him since then. So, now, it is uncertain whether Floki is living or expired. Can Ubbe triumph in locating Floki as he is one of those greater beings in Vikings? But, Gustaf Skarsgård, who played with Floki, hinted that maybe Floki did not find a way back in the cave.
THE SEER WILL RETURN
Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Anderson) murdered The Seer in the fifth season. On the other hand, The Seer was the best being who might see the future and was likewise considered God. Now, there is a possibility he would look at Viking’s awareness, directing them in the conflict. As he stated earlier, he is somewhere in between dead and living.
